Dermal fillers are one of the world’s most popular treatment options for restoring a more youthful appearance without surgery. Most FDA-approved dermal fillers are made of a smooth gel packed with a modified-form of hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules. We carry several brands of HA fillers to address a wide range of needs and goals, including the Restylane®, Juvéderm®, RHA® family of fillers.
At Face Forward Houston, we carry multiple Restylane products including Restylane-L®, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Kysse, Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Defyne and Restylane® Refyne, Restylane® Contour. Restylane was the first HA filler to be approved by the FDA and has a long and proven safety record.
We carry Juvederm® Ultra or Juvederm® Ultra Plus (a thicker and longer lasting Juvéderm) and Juvéderm Voluma™ XC. Juvéderm Voluma is a completely unique filler designed to add youthful volume back into your cheeks and restore facial contour. It fills and lifts the skin around your cheekbones, providing natural contour and volume. It can last up to two years with advanced injection techniques.
We carry RHA Redensity, RHA 2, RHA 3, RHA 4. RHA Redensity is used for fine lines around the lips and mouth. RHA 2 and 3 are used for mid to deep lines, folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. RHA 4 is a deeper tissue injection for volume restoration.
A consultation is best to determine which filler is best for you! That said, ideal candidates for wrinkle filler are in good physical health and have realistic expectations for improvement. Patients must understand that filler is temporary and repeat injections are needed to maintain results.
Side effects are mild. There is the possibility of temporary bruising at the injection site as well as some swelling, numbness, redness and tenderness, but these usually dissipate after a few days. In rare instances, small bumps may appear on the skin. Those with skin conditions such as sores, acne, rashes, hives, cysts or cold sores should delay treatment until healed, as injections might delay healing or worsen the condition.

Sculptra is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid found in absorbable sutures or stiches. In aesthetics, it is used to help restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. This safe injectable filler stimulates a specific reaction in your skin to produce collagen. Results are not immediate for Sculptra (unlike Bellafill); however it causes your body to naturally produce collagen to gradually restore facial volume.

Sculptra is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Sculptra requires a series of three to four injections spaced four to six weeks apart, with each session building upon the preceding session. Sculptra injections are fast with minimal side effects, but can include bruising, swelling and redness at the injection site. Local anesthesia or topical numbing may be used for patient comfort. After the injection, patients can resume normal activities right away. The area must be massaged over the first few days to avoid any lumps or bumps.
Sculptra results gradually become visible typically after the second injection. You can expect results to last for two years and even longer in some patients. Results can be maintained using maintenance injections once optimal results are achieved.

Non-surgical cosmetic treatments have increased in popularity due to their fast recovery time and minimally invasive approach. Many fillers have numbing agents in their formulations, but topical numbing can also be applied before treatment to increase comfort.
Although this procedure is temporary, filler does tend to last longer on an area like the nose and commonly will be present for over one year. It also can give an immediate improvement in nasal contour without surgical downtime or significant post-procedure restrictions.
